Upload Policy

Effective July 26, 2026

SchooledUp is for your own study material: your notes, summaries, lecture text and transcripts, syllabi, assignment sheets, and reading notes. This page lists what you must not upload, why, and what happens when something is blocked.

1. Never upload

  • Government or student IDs: SIN, passport, driver's licence, health card, tax documents, ID scans.
  • Official student records: transcripts, grade or disciplinary records, admissions, advising, or registrar documents.
  • Medical & accommodation information: medical, counselling, disability, accommodation, diagnosis, or treatment documents.
  • Financial or payment information.
  • Credentials: passwords, access keys, tokens, recovery codes, private keys, cookies.
  • Anyone else's private information, and intimate or unlawful images.
  • Copyrighted works beyond personal study use: textbooks, answer keys, solutions manuals, exam banks, or wholesale copies of copyrighted works. SchooledUp is a study tool — not a records host, textbook, answer bank, or exam bank.
  • Content marked confidential or proprietary, and malware.

2. Instructor-provided materials

Some schools — including the University of Toronto — require your instructor's permission before you reproduce lecture slides, recordings, or course notes. Where your school requires it, make sure you have that permission before uploading. You are responsible for what you upload.

3. What we do to enforce this

We automatically screen uploads with local, deterministic checks before any content reaches an AI provider. Uploads that look like restricted data or infringing works are blocked and not kept. Blocking happens by content and risk category, not by file type alone, and we may refuse any upload. If you believe something was blocked in error, contact privacy@schooledup.app.

4. Reporting content

If you believe content on SchooledUp infringes your copyright or was uploaded without permission (for example, an instructor's teaching materials), see the Contact page for how to send a notice. We act on valid notices and terminate repeat infringers.

We may update this policy from time to time. The version shown here is the one currently in effect.
